NoBS Movies is built on a simple promise: we don't sell your data, we don't track you across the internet, and we don't show ads. This page explains what little data we do collect and why.
Who we are
NoBS Movies is published by Daniel Shepherd, an individual developer based in the United States. You can reach us at martin.shepherd8367@gmail.com for any privacy questions.
What we collect
Very little. Specifically:
Your subscription status. When you subscribe to NoBS Movies through Apple or Google, the app store handles the payment and tells us only whether you're an active subscriber. We never see your credit card or billing address.
Your selected streaming services and watchlist. Stored on your device. If you sign in with an account (optional), it syncs to our servers via Supabase so you can use the app on multiple devices.
Your search queries are sent to the Streaming Availability API (operated by Movie of the Night LLC via RapidAPI) so we can look up where each movie streams. We don't store your search history.
Crash reports and basic usage stats. Apple and Google provide aggregated reports on app installs, crashes, and revenue. We use these to fix bugs. We do not collect personally identifying analytics.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address (unless you choose to create an account, in which case we collect only an email address for sign-in).
We do not collect your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, pixels, or fingerprinting.
We do not sell your data. Ever.
Who we share data with
Apple / Google handle your subscription billing under their own privacy policies.
RapidAPI / Movie of the Night receive your search queries (movie titles only) so they can return streaming availability. They do not receive any information about you personally.
Supabase (our database provider) stores your watchlist and selected services if you sign in with an account.
RevenueCat verifies your subscription status with Apple/Google so we know whether to unlock the app.
That's the entire list. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
How long we keep data
Watchlists and service selections: until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Account data (if you create one): until you delete your account. To delete, email us at martin.shepherd8367@gmail.com and we will delete your account within 14 days.
Subscription records: kept indefinitely for tax and accounting purposes, as required by law.
Children
NoBS Movies is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
If you live in California, the EU, or another region with data protection laws, you have the right to:
Access the data we hold about you
Correct or delete it
Opt out of any data sharing (we don't share with advertisers, so this is moot — but the right exists)
File a complaint with your local data protection authority
Email us and we'll handle it within 14 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify subscribers in-app.
